Welcome to echo my darlings - or should I say welcome back?!

Those who have followed my journey will know that echo has evolved through many forms over the last fifteen years - and somehow, I just can't stay away!

I blame you entirely for this gorgeous predicament - such is the loyalty and support you - my customers and friends have shown over my various reincarnations. 

From handmade plaques and pictures that begun the dream back in 2011 when I found myself on maternity leave with Isla and unable to sit still... to the launch of homeware and gifts a few years later, which became the backbone of echo and continues to drive its direction today. 

I can hardly believe that all these years later, I'm able to proudly look back on what has been a thriving and thrilling online business that turned into a bricks and mortar shop. That was in capitals on my bucket list that's for sure - it even won me the best business award in 2023! 

And here I am again, following the dreaded flooding of the shop that evolved into a studio shop at home here in Romiley, before deciding to take a break and concentrate on my writing career. 

That is shaping up rather nicely - but echo remains a part of who I am, something that was well and truly proven over a series of pop up events in 2025 which you all supported with aplomb! 

After some brewing and 'fizzing' time I've decided a gentle echo presence is needed - for me as much as for you - curating home collections and inspiring intentional gifting once again the premise. 

So, dear reader - here I am! Back - in your hands with intentionality and a slower pace to bring carefully considered pieces to your home, while providing gifts we'd very much want to receive. 

I shall periodically open the website and bring out regular gift boxes - meticulously curated and beautifully presented with all the echo details... the time feels right. 

For a while it felt really tricky to be able to compete with the highstreet - Sainsburys homeware - H&M, Dunelm etc were all bringing out ranges that felt hard to beat in terms of continual newness and price. Today, I don't feel that's the case - or not my 'bag' at least. 

echo will be softer and slower. I won't be trying to tempt you in to new things you don't need, rather more purposeful and conscientious additions for your home. My original mission remains the same - to only provide things I'd choose for my own home - that's always been my benchmark and it's never failed me.

I'm not here to appeal to everyone - just the tribe that get what I'm doing and appreciate carefully curated ranges, small batches and a love of supporting small businesses. I've suppliers across the country - many of whom are tiny like me - by supporting me your pound is touching many other dreamers, trying to make their mark in the world.
